It saddens my heart when I hear or read "Oh My God" or "OMG" explanations. "Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name." This prayer that Jesus taught his disciples starts with these words. We know it as the Lord's Prayer. Matthew 6:9 God's name is to be held in reverence and not used as an explanation, surprise or fear statement.
I can't help but believe that it saddens our Lord's heart when he hears his children using his name like this. Let us be watchful in all that we say. May our words be uplifting and honoring to our Lord. August Thurmer
