Finding Peace

My peaceful place. I sit, pray, meditate on God's word and try to listen to his Spirit speak to me. We live in a restless world with so many distractions. Our busy lives sometimes stop suddenly or we witness another slipping away before our eyes. In taking Anne to work today, I saw an ambulance attempting to rescue a person heading to work. It made me realize that life goes by so quickly and I need to take the time to listen to God and find peace in my busyness as well.

Walking In the Presence of God

In the busyness of life we sometimes get turned around. Finding our place with God allows us to re-center our focus on what is important and what can wait.

Isaiah 26:3 You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.

God Helping Me to See Through the Eyes Of a Child

My beautiful little 10 year old girl, Abby. 

Abby has the gentleness and giving heart of her mother. She saves her money only to buy gifts for others, never thinking of herself. I was a little concerned about this, so I felt it was time to talk with her. When asking her why she never bought anything for herself, God chose to speak through this child to me. "Daddy, it gives me joy to see other people happy, that is why I give to others!" Upon hearing her answer, I walked away humbled and very grateful that God gave me this very precious gift.
